We are a youth movement in Mexico determined to transform the energy system from organized and non-partisan civil society. Our goal is to promote a Just Energy Transition, changing the energy matrix from fossil to renewable and clean sources, under a perspective of social, environmental, climate, and economic justice to leave no one behind.
It is about consolidating a youth movement that, through annual meetings (hackathons), articulates a response to the climate crisis. The methodology combines mapping the social ecosystem to identify strategic actors, with the creation of high-level working groups to translate climate justice demands into viable technical and legal proposals. It focuses on promoting public policies, mobilizing communities, and building strategic alliances to achieve its objectives.
Because Mexico lacks a clear and articulated energy transition plan. Efforts to address the climate crisis are disjointed, and the administration continues to rely on fossil fuels. Each year that passes without strong climate action jeopardizes the right of young people to a dignified and just present and future, making it imperative for organized civil society to drive change.
Promoting a Just Energy Transition in Mexico. We aim to transform the country's energy matrix, moving from fossil sources to renewable and/or clean low-carbon energies. The ultimate goal is for this change to take place with a perspective of social, environmental, climate, and economic justice, ensuring the construction of a sustainable future where no one is left behind.
